Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and we all know what the means. Other than annoying family members coming in to town, delicious food, and football- it’s a day for giving thanks. I feel like many people forget how lucky they are to be living in the states. In your eyes, your life may be terrible, but you could always have it worse. I know this may sound cliche, but just think about the people in undeveloped countries. I think it’s hard for people who have grown up being so “privileged” that we tend to forget that there are people in need. I am not writing this blog post to rant about how good here in the states. I’m writing it as a reminder to reflect on your life-the choices you have made and the people who are always there for you. I think you get my point. In the middle of all of the chaos during this time of year, it’s good to sit back and enjoy the life that God has given you.
A good way to tell somebody that you are thankful for them is-nevertheless- reminding them! Didn’t see that one coming, did ya? A simple text message could make someones day a million times better. If you want to get a little more personal, you could always be “old fashion” and give someone a note/ letter. If you aren’t one to express your feelings, try doing it in another way. Whenever you can, tell your mom or dad “thanks.” As simple as that is, it’s something they want to here. You could even help clean! Gross, I know but they need your help.
It’s so easy for us to get wrapped up in our own lives, the we forget about others. Try to make time for your friends and family-pets included. I hope all of you have a lovely holiday season!
